so the day started ok. tomorrow is children’s day in germany so there was a little celebration downtown. my mom, sister and my niece went there…i guess to see and be seen.
it wasn’t anything special. a few moon bounces, food, music, and face painting…the usual. oh, they also had a puppet theater, that was playing “rumpelstielzken”. i have to admit, i did not enjoy myself. first of all, it was hot! i was in a dress and flip flops and still, it was hot!
though the intentions were nice, i don’t like celebrations for kids (the event was centered around a community building named “house of the generations”) that make you pay money to use the restroom. honestly, this is so german! i understand that they don’t want people to abuse the restrooms but hey, this is a children’s event and there were only parents and kids. ok, some drunks as well but they pee wherever they feel like. do they want kids to pee right there into the bushes or are they so desperate to make money? ridiculous, really!
so then we made our way home and had a very late lunch. for some strange reason, we ended up at my moms, again. which means that my niece was there every single day of the past week. i kid you not. and you would think that my sister would at least somehow support my mom or me in preparing the food/ setting the table/ keeping her daughter busy while others are cooking/ put dirty dishes in the dish washer…forget it! she is some lazy bum, it’s unbelievable!
no help at all. not only today but all week long. when she’s not sleeping or eating, she is reading the newspaper and tells my niece that she can’t help her because mommy is reading right now. aha, i see. good lord have mercy. all i can do is give some sarcastic remarks. don’t even know if she gets it or not.
also told my mom that i do not think that it’s ok that my niece will be here all week long next week as well. in case you wonder, she’s still sick so my sister doesn’t want her to go to preschool. i understand but why does grandma take care of the child? where is the mom? that’s what i don’t understand! really!
ok, i’ll shut up. that topic makes me sick to my tummy!
and to add to this, my grandma called. grandpa had a stroke yesterday and is being hospitalized right now. he can talk and move as far as i know but the extent of the damage to the brain is not clear yet. keep your fingers crossed please!
other than that, nothing is happening.
cheers,
franzi
