meetings!

today i’ve been running from meeting to meeting. i can certainly tell that the pace between my old and my new job has picked up. more is expected of me and i am supposed to step up to the plate. it is an unusual situation for me but i believe that i will get used to it quickly. 

the meetings are basically helping me to understand who is doing what and why and what my position in the whole structure is. the more meetings i have, the more people i meet, the more names are being tossed around and the more i am confused. maybe that will change. i hope it will. otherwise i need flash cards with pictures, names and position might help.

i had a strange experience today at an event where a new office site was opened. you know, people who listen to someone giving a speech who somehow takes too much time to get to the point (or never gets there at all). will have to think how i can phrase this so it’s anonymous without losing the humor. stay tuned!

oh, my shower curtain is hanging. that makes it 24 hours by now. it fell down the first time i put it up. well, the rod fell down and didn’t want to stick to the wall anymore. i tried and tried to have this stupid thing stick…no use. then i came up with some string/screw/pressure idea (the mc gyver in me had her shining moment!) and that seems to hold. at least for now. the real test will be my niece who is visiting on the weekend. gotta love kids and their destructive patterns hehe.

i’m off to bed – totally exhausted!
