what is the solution?! oh give me a break

alright folks, as you all know my life is currently consumed by working (as usual) and then once i’m home studying. while there is some improvement on the math front there are also plenty of setbacks.

yesterday i came across this question:

the solution?!

now people, it’s not like i don’t understand english but what the heck? “what is the solution to the system…” – what kind of question is that? THE SOLUTION TO WHAT???

while the answer is easy (they actually ask for the point of intersection of both graphs – and for you math challenged people out there you find that point by just looking at the graph) i STILL can’t get over the fact of how stupid this question is worded. to me this question is a miss because i just don’t know what i am being asked to do whereas if it said “what is the point of intersection” things would have been clear to me.

oh, also a bunch of new vocab that has hopefully found its way to my brain. i can’t recall any of that now but this is totally not the point. i need to know the definition not apply any of it in every day life ;-)

and the final proof i am finally getting all geeky is the fact that there’s a holiday here on monday and i don’t have to work so i am happy (yes, happy?!? where is all that coming from?) that i have a full day to study. oh yay! i’m sure you’re all doing a happy dance with me. ;-)

please let this pass quickly, i want my life back with no solutions and no graphs ;-)
