i am f*ing furious!

remember september when the fire department showed up to stop a fire in the electrical unit in my apartment? well, the water damage was dried up a while after that but the building management still decided to measure the moisture in the wall not once, not twice, but three times thus far. and because the nice dude who measured the moisture was more interested in the cinema chairs i have in my hallway than in doing his job one of his colleagues came by this morning to – oh yes indeed – measure the moisture of the wall. AGAIN.

the result is that i need to get a drying machine installed that will take about 10 days to dry out the moisture in the walls and in the beams. that is if the machine is running day and night. the noise level is about that of a vacuum cleaner so you can imagine that it’s ok for a day or two but 10 nights in a row of nonstop noise is quite something to endure.

the guy left and not ten minutes later the neighbor from upstairs rings my door and said they had yet another water leak. they think it was stopped before anything seeped through to the lower floor.

i don’t want to bore you with technical details. suffice it to say the super cold temperatures have played a part as well. but when i left my apartment in the morning it all looked ok.

of course i was worried throughout the day and when i came home i couldn’t believe my eyes: i had yet another water spot on the ceiling right where i had one 4 months ago. now that may not be as bad if you had a normal ceiling. but the ceilings in my apartment are lowered from 5 meters to a mere 3 meters. if there is water on the 3 meter ceiling it means that there is water also in the space in between the original and the lowered ceiling.

i am so annoyed by all of this! there are more important things to worry about in life and i wish this apartment would just not be taking up my energy.

i just hate this apartment right now. and i hate the way the building management is handling the situation. the apartment above me is a piece of crap and i have to live with the result.
