when the shit hits the fan i’d say welcome to my world right now!
not only has some freak in ceres, california used my credit card to buy whatever random shit at walmart and rite aid, the dude also had lunch or dinner at panda express for 55,43 dollars. what can you eat at that shitty place that is worth that much???
on top of that my cell phone bill was wrong wrong wrong billing me for text messages i sent (or did not send) in december. that is six months ago…
and to finish off the day of shitty shit happening to me i am about to show my apartment to two potential buyers (aka “investors”) who, if one of them ends up buying my place, has the legal right to terminate my lease. so maybe i will have to move soon. oh yay.
so in all, it was a terrible monday.
the phone bill is more or less taken care of but i still have to hand in some document or something stating the wrong charges. they billed me for every attempted phone call that was placed to my number but did not go through while i was abroad (they claim they sent me a text message which is a service that costs 41 cent per text message). i had my cell provider turn off this notification feature years ago and they couldn’t really explain why the charges were on my bill because they also had the info that i had this feature turned off.
regarding the credit card fraud…there’s more wrong purchases to endure. just talked to the lady of the credit card company and she said that she sees more charges on hold that may be billed to me. the purchases were made last thursday and booked friday. due to the weekend it took until today to see the charges on my account. i have plenty of witnesses who can testify that i did not hang out at walmart last week…the lady of the credit card company said that i will likely get my money back but who knows?!
what is really annoying about this is that i have only used the card once abroad and that was in istanbul last october. now, over six months later there are these weird purchases…i will have to investigate further how often i used the card in istanbul and where exactly. i only remember using it at the hotel and if it really was the hotel then they are in big trouble.
[edit: i checked and i used the card five times abroad, once in istanbul and four times in chicago and new york city. never at restaurants only in stores and that hotel. scary to think that even with this little usage abuse is right around the corner.]
and regarding the apartment sale…i wouldn’t buy this place so i hope other people see it likewise.
i need food now to get over this shit.
